| Introduction | Established in 1976, the Philadelphia Calligraphers’ Society is an association of approximately 150 scribes that seek to advance the knowledge and appreciation of calligraphy and allied arts, and to encourage the exchange of ideas among its members and the art community. The Society also works to encourage public awareness of calligraphic arts, their long and distinguished history, and their beautiful application in daily life. Membership is open to anyone regardless of calligraphic experience or ability. Whether one is a professional artist, student, or hobbyist, the PCS provides information, creative opportunities, and a community of colleagues for scribes throughout the Delaware Valley.
