Introduction	Well Hello there! My name is Lisa Barrett and I'm an educator. When I first started college, I was a typical young adult...I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. I started taking general education classes and discovered a passion for the Humanities. I was excited about classes that were thought provoking and I did well in classes that were heavily based on reading and writing and discussions about how humans interact with each other. Then an epiphany...a teacher uses all these facets on a daily basis. I was hooked! I attended Morton Community College. I worked as a waitress and put myself though community college and ended up winning $50,000 in scholarships to attend Elmhurst College. I majored in English writing. After graduating and working for a year, I missed the excitement of being in the classroom. So I enrolled in a Masters program at University of Phoenix for a degree in Adult Education! Soon after graduating, I began a career as an ESL teacher and I love my job.
