About me

Introduction	I find politics to be frustrating and infuriating. Those drawn to politics and governing are rarely people who should be in power and the few who are drawn to it for the right reasons, inevitably are ostracized and vilified by their fellow politicians and the media. My political leanings are towards Libertarian, but I feel that even that is probably too much of a label to be accurate. I come from a family of great political diversity. I have cousins on one side who are fairly conservative Republicans and other cousins who are rabidly Liberal Democrats, one of whom is a lobbyist in Washington. I’m taking this class to learn more about government as I feel that all information is useful and important. I'm not as well informed on this subject as I should be. On the current events and civics quiz I did better than the average American but not as well as I would have liked. I have voted in every presidential election since I turned eighteen, and have voted for the third party (Ralph Nader) twice and Obama in the last election. I would probably term myself as a political cynic who wishes that things were different.
