Introduction | For the past two and a half years, we have been living on a narrowboat and exploring the inland waterways. Having bought a house (again), we have settled down to more sedate things and have spent quite a lot of time on a revisited hobby - gardening. Since we have quite a large one this is somewhat time consuming and has curtailed travelling to a large extent. However that will change shortly, as we both intend to set out on further voyages of discovery - the pun here being intended for after all is what we will be travelling in mostly (a Land Rover). This was true, up to a point (three weeks ago at the time of writing) - recent posts would indicate that another narrow boat has entered our lives. This one is called 'Mariner' and she is a 45 foot cruiser stern boat, powered by a Lister SR2. Three months was as long as we could stand being marrooned ashore!! Life without a boat is an empty shell as we quickly found out whenever we saw a canal or a boat or even a programme on the telly like 'Locks & Quays'. |
