| Introduction | I was raised in the bad days of the segregated south of the late 1940's and '50's. People were the same as today, but trapped in the lies fed to them by the society in which they lived. Good people did bad things through ignorance, and bad people did worse. People were still licking wounds from a war fought by their grandfathers and still recovering from a reconstruction gone wrong. But through it all, people survived, loved and wanted the best for their children. My stories are amalgams of many of these people, but based solely on none. |
