| Introduction | Rob Karel is a Principal Analyst at Forrester Research who writes research for Business Process and Application Professionals. Although this is a personal blog, I am writing in my professional capacity, and much of the content is based on research and observations as an analyst. I am a leading expert in how companies manage data and integrate information across the enterprise. My current research focus includes master data management, data quality management, metadata management, and data integration technologies, as well as data governance best practices. I have more than 17 years of data management experience, working in both business and IT roles to develop solutions that provide better quality, confidence in, and usability of critical enterprise data. Prior to joining Forrester, I managed Intuit's enterprise data quality initiatives and supported the implementation of Intuit's customer master. Prior to Intuit, I managed the design and development of customer master and attribute management solutions for Cisco Systems. Earlier, I was research manager for the global M&A product group at Thomson Financial Securities Data (now Thomson Financial Investment Banking). |
