About me

Location Tucson, AZ
Introduction I am the author of "The Cowboy and the Canal: How Theodore Roosevelt Cheated Colombia, Stole Panama, and Bamboozled America"—a revealing, behind-the-scenes investigation of the political shenanigans inside the U.S. purchase of the Panama Canal in 1904. For many years, before moving to the beautiful and amazing Soronian Desert city of Tucson, Arizona, I taught Geopolitical History and American Studies at a private post-secondary school in Phoenix. I live in this desert paradise with the creative and financial challenges facing an independent Progressive Era scholar pursuing the stories of the past that underpins many of the thorniest issues we today, my brilliant husband, and two cats that defy description. I hold a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies, Ethical and Creative Leadership, from Union Institute & University, a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in History from Arizona State University, and I am currently an editor for the online journal Integral Leadership Review, and Chief Creative Officer for Integral Publishers. My forthcoming book "Imperial Cowboy: Theodore Roosevelt and the Militarization of America" will be available summer of 2015.
