| Introduction | On Christmas Day 2010 I set myself the challenge of writing a new and unique poem every day over the course of a year. I managed for 6 months until a move to South Sudan broke the routine. Sadly the intensity of life didn't provide time for poetry, but then leading a more settled existence in Tanzania I hoped things might change. They didn't. I lived for two years in the Serengeti wildersness, and nothing came. Now I find myself back in the nip and tuck of South Sudan, where life is cheap and yet so important. I so hope I can tap again into these words whicn keep me alive... 'After all, in matters of the spirit, men are all engaged in colloquies with themselves.
