About me

Introduction	My name is Nancy Real (nee Annunziata DeLucia). My palate was developed as a toddler when both grandmothers (my "Nonne") taught me cuisine from their respective regions of Italy. During my school years in Southern Italy, my paternal grandmother, Annunziata, taught me the cuisine from all regions of Italy. Throughout life, I've been placed in the path of people from all over the world. From my friends and my husband, who is from Mexico, I learned about various cultures. As a result, I became interested in art history and international foods. Professionally, I am an educator and chef instructor at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles where I conduct tours in English, Italian, French and Spanish. I also teach culinary courses linked to art exhibitions and author articles connecting various periods of art to historic recipes. I teach private cooking classes and am presently authoring two cookbooks. My sous-chefs and I create a buzzz in my kitchen. We have a blast by cooking, talking and singing in many languages. I always share my excitement about foods, people and life! I hope you enjoy the recipes that I create as much as I do -I am an incurable foodie!
