Introduction	I am crazy about teddy bears and want to share that love with others. I made my first teddy bear in 1984. It took me days to sew the pieces together, hours to turn them right side out, another day to stuff the thing and hand sew the remaining seams together. Little did I know that I would be hooked for life on the process of creating this lumpy, weird looking creature that smiled back at me. I use various materials for my bears; recycled nubby jackets, wool or imitation fur coats, any fuzzy material I can find that looks like it might sport a fine teddy; mohair, alpaca, faux fur, old quilts, chenille bedspreads, blue jeans and upholstery material. The list is basically endless and depends only upon my imagination. I make large bears, small bears, angel bears, Alaskan bears, polar bears, you name it. Bears are my passion, my hobby, and my business. I believe in teddies and in their power to pass along love and healing. I hope that my love for making them is passed on to others. I am not only a creator of bears, but I am also a collector. I have hundreds of bears that live with my husband and me in our home in beautiful Juneau, Alaska.
