Introduction I'm a clinical psychologist in the San Francisco Bay Area with an interest in the broader areas of mental and physical health among the LGBTQ community, as well as the interaction between minority stressors and health behaviors. My primary employment is as a researcher, though I do practice clinically. As the primary goal of this blog is introspection and musings on current research, it is not intended to provide or replace professional medical or psychological treatment.
Interests I research a variety of topics related to health behaviors and risk associated with HIV, as well as the impact that prejudice, stigma, and self-stigma have on the LGBTQ community (though most my work focuses on gay men). I'm also interested in the psychological benefits of contemplative practices, such as Zen Buddhist meditation.
