Introduction	Matthew Barry was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, but grew up in Atlanta. Matthew was highly involved in the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization during his four years at Riverwood High School where he competed and lettered in Cross Country, Swimming, and Track and Field. He was state runner up in the pole vault in 2000 and 2001.He then attended the University of New Hampshire where he was also a member of the Track and Field team from 2002—2005 competing in the pole vault and the sprints. He graduated with a B.A. in History in May of 2005 and then enrolled in the Master's of Education program at Georgia State University. In his fourth year at The Davis Academy, Matthew has taught 7th Grade World History and currently teaches American History and Civics in 8th grade. He also coaches the boys’ Basketball, Swimming, Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Other than teaching, Matthew also enjoys coaching pole vaulting, watching the Red Sox, and listening to music.
