| Introduction | Esther has been living in San Francisco for four years. She does not own a car, takes public transportation and loves high-heels! The idea for a foldable shoe came to her over two years ago when she was going to a party and was wearing 5-inch heels and had to walk about 10 blocks through the hills of the City. Once she arrived, her feet hurt so bad that all she wanted to do was go home and take off her uncomfortable shoes. She thought, “Why isn’t there a little shoe that fits into a little purse that can be taken out when one needs to walk a lot?” She researched the topic and found out the foldable shoe had already been invented, yet wondered, “Why haven’t I ever seen a foldable shoe at a store?” Although there are other foldable shoes, she wondered why they weren’t marketed as a viable solution to the pain of high-heels for all women. She also noticed that all other designs were flawed for this purpose – they folded inward so that the user had to touch the dirty soles to store, and none created their own pouch. Out of this need came inspiration for the Flip Slip! |
