| Introduction | In addition to my newest role as a blogger, I am also a part-time instructor in the English and American Studies departments at Youngstown State University. I have a master's degree in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University and a bachelor's in journalism from YSU. I've also worked as a copy editor for the Tribune Chronicle and had a brief stint as an intern at The Vindicator while in college. I have a deep love for the city I live in and hope that among other pursuits, this blog will address issues specific to Youngstown's improvement. Additionally, I hope to use this space to record my views and interpretations of society and to continue to exercise my skills as a writer and educator. |
| Interests | Writing (obviously), reading just about anything that crosses into my field of vision, and constantly moving within and between all of the roles I play in a given day: mom, teacher, wife, political commentator, friend, housekeeper, mediator, advocate, and defender of Youngstown. |
| Favorite movies | Newest addition to the list is Iron Jawed Angels. Also, A Raisin in the Sun, A League of Their Own, The American President, The Story of Us, The Incredibles, Much Adu About Nothing, and a dozen more that get switched out every five minutes. |
| Favorite music | Too inconsistent to even begin categorizing. Everything from The Beatles to Broadway musicals and from Loretta Lynn to Celine Dion. |
| Favorite books | Harry Potter, the In the Garden trilogy by Nora Roberts, To Kill A Mockingbird, Jane Eyre, Sense and Sensibility, and anything by Ellen Goodman, Anna Qunidlen, and Gloria Steinem. |
