Introduction I'm a bioengineering student at UCLA. That makes me sound like an incorrigibly logical person and a science geek (both of which I am...) but I absolutely love how words can fit together and create such beautiful, thoughtful, emotional, and transcendental experiences. I can't go a day without reading, and I'll read almost anything (except romance novels - can't stand those.) I am pretty picky about the books I love, though, so if a book is on my "favorites" list, it was amazing and moving enough to change the way I look at the world. It seems like a high standard, but books do have that power, and the ones that do stay with me forever. I also write short stories. My favorite genres to read are science fiction and light fantasy, so naturally most of my writing falls into those categories. I write realistic fiction and other random things too! You've got to make contact with the alien leader. How will you tell when the conversation is finished?

Well, the conversation will obviously be over when I'm vaporized. Or when the Doctor magically appears and saves the day!
