Introduction | I am a single, African-American mother of a beautiful little boy. I am the youngest of the 12 children born to my parents, Levora and Marion. My mom's name is Levora, thus the name of this blog - Levora's child. My father died in 1986 from complications from cancer. My parents had been married for 42 years when my dad died. Though I am a part of a big family, I have no idea what it is like to grow up with a bunch of sisters and brothers. The majority of them had graduated, married, and left home by the time I entered the first grade. For years, it was just me and my brother, Randy. I spent my formable years growing up in rural Mississippi in a home without indoor plumbing or running water. I was the first one of the 12 children to go to college. My life if littered with a lot of missed steps. I wish I had made a lot more sounder choices in my life than I have - especially with my finances and with my love life, but you live and learn. And I'm still learning. |

Is there anything in your life - a cause, a person or a belief - that you would be willing to die for?
