| Introduction | We,Jimmy and Cynthia, have been partnering with the local hawk watching friends, lead by Bill Haley, since about 1994. As members of the group have come and gone since it's inception in 1993, we have found ourselves manning chairs as much as was possible every fall since the first time. It has been our joy to experience the hawkless days and the days when we saw over a thousand. Many join our watchers in September for the Broad-wing season, but Bill man's the watch through into November with as many hours as can be covered. (2018 note: our health keeps Jimmy and I from the watch itself, so we are continuing to report the numbers other watchers report.) We hope to make this information, and other pertinent info available to Hawkwatchers everywhere. |
