| Introduction | I'm a 24 year years old, and I'm balancing life as a mom, wife and student. As my title suggests I'm not a native Texan. I'm happy to be here, and I want to learn more about the inner workings of the place I now consider home. I'm currently completing my basics at ACC, but I hope to transfer to UT next year. I used to be more in tune with my political self before I had kids, but I'll admit I've been out of the loop the past few years. I don't consider myself to be left or right since I see them as two sides of the same coin. I have no experience with politics, and sadly I have yet to find a president worth my vote. I didn't do so great on the quizzes, but I'm sure by the end of the semester that will change. The main reason I am taking Texas state and local government is to work towards my transfer to UT, but I feel I can gain more than just a letter grade. This class will force me to open my eyes again to the political world despite how disgusted I get with the greed and imbalance associated with politics. |
