| Introduction | I arrived in Washington just before the Kennedy assasination in 1963 and served through the Johnson Administration in both the Surgeon General's Office and the Office of the President. My work outside of government includes teaching, public relations & fund raising. I received an MA in history from Georgetown University where my mentor was one of the writers of Profiles in Courage. I was raised in the midwest as a staunch Republican Calvinist. I remain moderately both. |
