Introduction	The African continent in all her stark contradiction, beauty and spiritual/cultural revelation is my primary inspiration. Words, music and art beguile me while curiosity and ambition drive me - but then so does laughter, clear values, originality and a commitment to human development. But good red wine is, of course, mandatory! Steep hills I climb daily include the quest for greater humility. (Sigh) My professional experience spans social documentary, journalism, content management and development, multi-media arts and cultural exploration, as well as work around gender and identity themes across media / mediums but primarily on film. I enjoy community engagement and development, and value the tenacity to stay with what we feel / believe in. The historical and contemporary narrative around, and representation of black and African women and their voice, is what I’m exploring more strongly than at any other time right now. Equally, I am absorbed in and am currently making a feature documentary film about the repatriation of sacred objects and art taken from Africa, coming back home… the long way round and shrouded in controversy. But what about you…?
Interests	The repatriation of Africa's sacred objects and art. Voice, visual & written representations of women on our continent and the contemporary drive to recalim how we are portrayed. Issues of Identity, Origin, the expression of self in relation to others and our individual place withing the collective. Film and media globally as well robust forums for engagement and debate! I also like flying kites and travelling.
