| Introduction | Clinical Nurse Educator, currently based in community health with 20 years experience in public and private sector nursing including most specialties - essentially from womb to tomb: Post Graduate certificates in Midwifery, Oncology and Palliative Care, Dip. Ap Sc., and currently completing a Masters in Education at UOW. Interests include teaching, learning, publishing, marketing, organisational psychology, appreciative inquiry, innovation and entrepreneurial pursuits of most kinds, web design and ICT in general (particulalry fond of gadgets)... certainly no expert but that has never deterred me from trying! |
| Interests | Wishlist: own a farm, develop a farmstay franchise and an online education consultancy service, headhunt all the brilliant educators and talent (nursing and mainstream) but earn enough to be able to pay them what they deserve (I'm talking fortune 500). Develop new graduate nurse programs in community heath in our area health service and throughout NSW (then the world!)... See a passion and commitment for lifelong learning, teaching and a culture of colleagiality AND a recognition for innovative practice also develop elsewhere in public sector nursing. Find a PHD supervisor who is brave enough to take me on... must be patient, long suffering and strong enough to keep me on task yet encouraging enough to keep me inspired... did I mention I bake? |
| Favorite movies | Love anything with Shakespeare.... even badly performed- love listening to the language (and getting the meaning- usually a 10 second delay).. Anything that makes you think, shocks, surprises or challenges you |
| Favorite music | pretty eclectic...classics- Andrea Boccelli (voice like butter)...Big bands- Miller- anything with swing and lots of percussion, U2, Tasmin Archer, REM, Fat Boy Slim- weapon of choice (but maybe it is bad boy Christopher Walkin that I like in the video clip)... anything just as long as it has meaning, sounds good and is unpretentious |
| Favorite books | Whatever I am reading at the time.... because as far as reading for pleasure is concerned- it has to be REALLY rivetting to keep me engaged! Generally I have about 4 going at once.... when I get bored with one I pick up the other. I'd share what I am reading at the moment but one of the books might offend some in this group (it's not explicit just contovertial) |
