About me

IntroductionJodie is a caring and loving wife and mother of two. She was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia after a routine physical in late October 2008. Aplastic anemia is a disease of the bone marrow. The bone marrow stops making enough red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets for the body. Red blood cells carry oxygen to all parts of your body. White blood cells help the body fight infection. Platelets help control bleeding. Aplastic anemia is a rare disease. About 3 out of every 1 million people in the United States get aplastic anemia each year. Jodie's only treatment option for a full and complete recovery is a bone marrow transplant. Other drug treatments may help her while we wait for a BMT, but they are a temporary solution. As we wait for God to deliver Jodie from this disease, we do our best to keep her healthy. We stay away from public gatherings like church, limit her contact with friends and family and do our best to keep the rest of the family healthy. Thank you for visiting Jodie's CarePages site, we praise God for demonstrating His love and care for us through our friends and family.
