| Introduction | As an Idaho native, Gina spent much of her child and young adulthood years enjoying the outdoors. It was the creative storytelling around weekend family campfires that sparked her desire to put that creativity on paper. Her college years in San Francisco were the inspirational forces behind writing fictional short stories, as she was exposed daily to endless snippets of observations, derived from a melting pot of material. As the mother of four, Gina also delved into writing non-fictional short stories, many of which capture her past and present experiences with parenting, and her descriptive views of moments which define the beauty of the human connection. Some of Gina's recognitions include recipient of the ADDY award for recognition for creativity in advertising material for Healing the Children, a non-profit organization comprised of Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons who worldwide treated children with facial deformities at no cost to the families, a two time winner of local writing contests featuring both fictional and non-fictional short stories, in addition to publication of a fictional short story in the William F. Harrigan society annual newsletter. |
