| Introduction | I have had an interest in photography for many years now, but it's only been over the past couple that I started to take it more seriously. After watching the film "Julie and Julia" I decided to give myself a similar project in something that I was passionate about and thereafter Lara's One A Day was born. I started from my birthday, so the photographs are from my 41st year on this planet. It's harder than I thought it might be. Some days I have difficulty in choosing, others I have difficulty in choosing a subject. With the result that not all days are of interest. I was initially concerned about this but then thought - well that's just live isn't it! I also have by change picked a year where I got to experience a once in a lifetime adventure. I spent 10 weeks living aboard a boat called Beoga. I got to bring the boat from Galway to Las Palmas via Spain and Portugal. I then sailed across the Atlantic, finishing of the experience with 3 and half weeks travelling up the north Caribbean Islands. So not a typical year, but I'm glad to have so many wonderful memories to capture so far. |
