OccupationCreativity Technologist, Writer
LocationSyracuse, New York, United States
IntroductionCreativity Technologist. I specialize in systems applied to computing, creativity, biology and human thought. In my spare time I write essays and fiction about the ramifications of the human mind never knowing everything about anything. Further favorite subjects: Mac computers, deceptive truth, art, futurism, natural beauty and troll trampling. Politically I call myself a 'Positive Anarchist' in that I believe in maximum choice. But I also believe in maximum responsibility for our choices, therefore being positive as opposed to irresponsible or negative.
InterestsMy favorite activities are sharing fun, brainstorming and intimacy with eclectic people. Outdoors I enjoy biking, canoeing, sailing, hiking. Indoors I am reading, doing and learning stuff on my many Macs. I learned programming using cards fed into IBM main frames. What a nightmare. I graduated to IBM PCs running DOS and later Windows. What a nightmare. Then I discovered Macintosh computers and began enjoying computing. Part of my life's manifesto is to share that joy with others.
Favorite moviesAnything that challenges my imagination. Currently I am studying the work of director Fritz Lang, exploring his silent films on up. I enjoy any films by David Lean, Alfred Hitchcock, Jean Cocteau, Tim Burton, Clive Barker, Ismail Merchant and James Ivory, Stanley Kubrick, and The Archers, aka Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger.
Favorite musicApparently I used to bounce around inside my mom to the music of Richard Strauss. I particularly like 'Energy Music' which gets me through dull tasks. My favorite instrument is the piano. Classical music is my wife, but I cheat on her with Techno pop. I run an eGroup at Yahoo called YMO RARE that shares unavailable music by the YMO and David Sylvian family of musicians. A great place to buy alternative music is the Lakeshore Record exchange. Say hi to Andrew Chinnici for me. You can visit them on the net at: AlternativeMusic.com BTW: In case you hadn't noticed, the RIAA is destroying as well as corporatizing Internet radio. You can help. Favorite booksSir Richard Burton's 1001 Arabian Nights and any books by David Pogue, Adam Engst and the disembodied head of the TidBITS staff, George MacDonald, Hermann Hesse, H. Rider Haggard, Clive Barker, Jules Verne, Kurt Vonnegut (early work) G.K Chesterton, CS Lewis and anything written about the life of Yeshua.
