| Introduction | Dr. Donna Wiggins, Associate Professor of Music at Winston-Salem State University, holds the B.M. Degree in Theory & Composition and the M.S.T. in Music Education from Georgia Southern University. She also holds the Ph.D. in Curriculum and Supervision from the University of Iowa where she was a Holmes Group Scholar. Further study was done at the University of Oklahoma at Norman where she earned Levels I and II certification in Kodaly methodology. Wiggins' research interest is the impact of music-integrated literacy curricula on emergent literacy. She presents regularly at state, regional, and national conferences and has been featured in several publications including Teaching Music, the journal for the Music Educators National Conference (2003) and the Early Childhood Education Journal (2007).
