Key Achievements • Designing learning programmes to assist people to develop employability skills • Advocating accreditation of learning and credit based approach to qualifications • Managing the internationally renowned East Leeds Family Learning Centre • In 2002 he was awarded the OBE in recognition of his services to Adult Learning • Developing the Job Guarantee programme that achieved the “Innovation of the Year award” at the Local Government Chronicle Awards and at the Business in the Community Awards. The programme also achieved the award for the “Best Public and Private Partnership”. The judges described the work as ‘a stunning demonstration of what can be achieved when the public and private sectors work together. It is an inspirational project that utilises the different skills, experience and resources of all the partners.’ |
