You've got to make contact with the alien leader. How will you tell when the conversation is finished?
I will extend my right index finger and say, "ET, OUCH!" If he gets the reference I will know they have been studying our kind. Once this is known, I would use intense beeping sounds in a purposely flawed attempt at conversing to annoy him. He will then probe me in anger and I will awake in my bed confused. That is how I will know it is over.
