| Introduction | Joe and Alice Morgan bought Pontiac Cove Marina in 1964. They had a small store, featuring mainly fishing tackle and bait. They had a few boat slips and several fishing boats to rent. Fishing was the main reason folks came to Bull Shoals back then, and it continues to be a very popular pastime. But the purpose for spending time on the lake has evolved. Boating, swimming, scuba diving, water skiing, wakeboarding and sailing are a few of the many reasons people visit Bull Shoals each year. Joe and Alice had two sons, Tim and Dan. Tim bought the business May 1, 1978. Today it is a thriving operation with nearly 300 boat slips, boat rentals, scuba air station, fuel dock, and a store that sells fishing licenses, bait, tackle, boating accessories, souvenirs, beer, soda, snacks and more. In 2012, PCM leased the campground from the Corps of Engineers and opened the first phase of Lake Harbour Resort. Tim and his wife, Johnna, still own Pontiac Cove Marina and Resort today. Their daughter, Jabet, now manages the daily operations at the marina, along with her husband, Matt Wade. Matt is also a licensed, professional land surveyor. (Joe passed away in 1983; Alice in 2000; Dan in 2012.) |
