| Introduction | “I want to join politics because I want to do something for my country” said a caller on one of the radio channels. The radio host replied in sarcasm, “Oh ya? .... Thank you bhayyiya!” (A euphemism for ‘Bullxxit’) “I do not like the Auto Walas of Delhi! I find the Auto Walas of Mumbai much more cooperative!” said another caller! The radio host replied vituperatively, “You want the luxuries of Delhi, move away from the slums (Mumbai ), and yet you have the nerve to B.S about our city. Go back to the drain! (Mumbai)” The above comments are reflective of what India is heading towards. A country divided by widespread apathy (Chalta hai attitude), regionalism, divisions based on caste as an after effect of reservations, pollution, amongst many other evils. We cannot just wish them away! At this point of my life, I do not have the resources or the recognition to be an effective doer and not just a thinker! This blog is intended to work on the first component of the AIDA model (Awareness, Interest, Desire, and Action). Right now, I am on ‘A’ (Awareness) and my ultimate goal is to end with ‘A’ (Action). I hope that the reader will follow the same path |
