About me

Gender Male
Occupation Young Adult Librarian
Location Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, United States
Introduction My name is Dan Barbour and I love my job. I graduated from Southeastern University in 2006 and have been in the Young Adult Librarian position at the Shrewsbury Public Library since October of 2007. Before I was the Young Adult Librarian, I worked as the Electronic Resources Librarian, having started with the SPL in March of 2007. Loving my job and the community of Shrewsbury, I moved here from Oxford in March of 2008, and have loved life as a Shrewsbury resident ever since!
Interests Putting on awesome events for teens in grades 5-12.
Favorite Movies Too many - I am a movie buff. Ask yourself this question - if stuck on an deserted island, but magically you had access to a working DVD player, what three movies would you want with you?
Favorite Music Again, I like a too much to just name a few. I do really appreciate when singers write their own music - it shows true talent, not just mass-marketed garbage (but there are some exceptions.)
Favorite Books The Road by Cormac McCarthy Intensity by Dean Koontz (older teens and adults only!!) The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown White Cargo by Stuart Woods (older teens and adults only) and I think the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series is great!
