| Introduction | Long ago, when the collective knowledge of the galaxy faced complete destruction, a small group of unsung heroes created a repository on an unknown world and linked it into all interstellar communications. From their hidden haven, the caretakers have changed hands for untold generations. At all times, a representative is chosen to be the hidden "face" of this operation and given the name Lord Somes. This noble being maintains vigil over the accumulated knowledge of thousands of worlds, to as far back as the darkness of pre-recorded time. Lord Somes ensures bibliographical order and adheres to the highest standards of informational integrity.
