IntroductionI'm told nobody blogs anymore. That is okay because this isn't really for you. It is for me. I was born, as my children like to point out, in the middle of the last century. I grew up without a mall (rode our bikes to town to get cherry root beer and candy at the drug store), a computer (learned to type on a typewriter), an iPod (had a transister radio), or a smart phone (our phone was stuck to the wall and we had party lines in the beginning). Television was black and white, and radio was only AM. We played outside, wandering the neighborhood and countryside. I can read and write cursive. Times have changed, and I am acquainted with computers. I like to print off a blog book of my ramblings and pictures each year for ME. It's a little like a journal, making it easy to look back and remember places I've been and things I have done. When you get to be "older than dirt" you'll understand more about trying to remember things. . .

Please describe how you could take the peel off an apple all in one go:

Just like Meg Ryan almost does it in "Sleepless In Seattle." Take your paring knife and start at the top. Thinly slice under the skin, in about a 1-inch wide strip, and keep going around and around 'til you get to the bottom. We do it every Fall when we are dehydrating some of our yummy apple slices.
