| Introduction | Call me a late bloomer. Around the beginning of 2005, I finally faced the fact that if I remained childless, I'd never forgive myself. After a good bit of discussion, my husband and I embarked on our journey, seeking a child or children by whatever means possible. We travelled the very difficult IVF path, since I found it hard to let go of the biological imperative to produce my own child (although the Biological Imperative, annoying creature that it is, decided not to make itself known to me until I was well past the age when most smart women have already had the kidlets. Thanks a heap, BI!). Location: Northern California. Pets: Six cats, all indoor. Husband: one. Politics: 9-11 Republican -- or call me a hawkish liberal, if you will, since that fits a bit better.
