| Introduction | I grew up in Woodstock, CT on a large dairy farm. Being the next to the oldest of 6 children, there was never time to sit back and relax. Taking care of the farm chores, the chickens, riding our horses, and household chores occupied most of my day. In my free time I was active in school sports, 4-H Clubs, and babysitting. I graduated from UCONN with a degree in Early Childhood Education and began my 30 year teaching career. I continued to be active in coaching sports, along with raising our two daughters, Jennifer and Megan. In my “free time” I baked, knitted and sewed. One evening, Dave Lussier and his wife Pam, were over visiting and they mentioned painting and their love of art. I took some lessons from them and then “caught the bug”. I now find myself “thinking art” everywhere I go. Peter and I have recently traveled the lower 48 states in our RV. Now I find myself seeing color and art form in nature and landscapes along the way. Retirement…”the state of being tired again”. When we are not traveling I can be found out working in my gardens, playing with the grandchildren, visiting family and friends, or staring at a palate full of paint with a canvas on the easel. Life is good. |
