About me

IntroductionI am a 44 year old who was diagnosed with Stage 2A Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkins Lymphoma in March 2014. This diagnosis came one year after also suffering a tibia-fibula fracture requiring intermedial rod surgery February 2013. After 4 months rehabilitation, surgery was performed to remove hardware in September 2014. The title of the blog is a question myself and many loved ones have asked, Really? Sometimes it doesn't seem real that I have been through two such difficult medical events in such a short period of time. However, looking back, I realized that the past 15+ years of marriage and parenting, we have lived a wonderful idyllic life. We have had much success in our careers and have been blessed with two amazing children. Our wonderful group of friends has grown and changed but largely our close circle has remained a constant source of love. We have supportive families and enjoy wonderfully close relationships with grandparents, great grandparents, brothers and aunts/uncles. We are so fortunate and appreciate the life we have built together. This is but one chapter in our journey, it has changed us but will not define us.
