About me

Gender Male
Industry Law
Occupation Attorney/Editor
Location Tulsa, OK, United States
Introduction Grew up in St. Louis, MO, degrees in BA Econ, JD Law and BFA in Painting. Got married quite young, got divorced when not so young, three great children and two very loveable grandchildren. Lived in several geographic regions of the US over the past 20 years and currently reside in Tulsa, OK. Other than professional writing as a lawyer, I've only ventured to poetry as a vent for creativity in writing but I've written poetry off and on for several years. The blog for me, as just about everything in life is for me, is about having a fun and good shared experience. One thing the blog will not be about: a limited topic. Unless life's experiences are deemed limited. (Not by me, however.)
Interests What's not to be interested in???
Favorite Movies I love foreign films; the tripe that seems to be coming from Hollywood all seems to have been said before. I like to feel cerebrally entertained. So with that said here are some of my favorites: The Lives of Others, Tsotsie (anything by S. African playwright Athol Fugardt is exceptional), Pelle the Conqueror, The Lover are some of my fav foreign films; Michael Clayton, Blood Diamond and anything with Johnny Depp are wonderful domestic fare.
Favorite Music I suppose if it were possible to listen to the Gypsy Kings doing Beethoven w/John Williams strumming it up w/ Rascal Flatts, I'd be in heaven. But, I'm just as happy listening to any of those genres all by themselves, separately.
Favorite Books Currently I'm reading Portrait of a Woman, just finished The Sun Also Rises and I'm still reading Heminway's Collected Letters; I like re-reading the classics; I've read about six or seven of Nelson Demille's novels as a quick change of pace in the last year when I travel, some I really enjoyed and a couple I put down from boredom. I'm also reading a lot on the mechanics of fiction and non-fiction because I would like to write, especially short stories.

What is the substance of emotional pain or joy?
