| Introduction | I was born a healthy little boy. I hit all my milestones at the right times. About 18months old my mom noticed that I was losing my balance. She took me in for a well-child visit and talked to the Dr. She was concerned cause I started to walk with my knees bent backwards. They thought I had a gait problem and I seen 2 Dr's during the fall of 2007 and they said that I needed to see a neurologist. So we went to Grand Rapids where the Dr's gave me an MRI. In February of 2008 the Dr's told my family that I had MLD (Metachromatic Leukodystrophy). There is a link provided below that will take you to a site that explains further what MLD is. Briefly, it is a neurological disease that is rare and genetic. It is also fatal and non-curable at this time. My mom will be using this blog on my behalf to let her family and loved ones know how I am doing as often as she can. We love it when you pray for us! We know God does too. God made me special for a reason and He gave me a mom that abides in Him so that she can take the best care of me that she can. She knows that with God in her life, everything will be ok.
