If you drive on a parkway why don't they make the whole plane out of that?
Assuming the parkway is not completely flat, there is an infinite amount of planes on the parkway. Assuming the X vector is towards a building, and the Y vector is parallel to the bulding and the parkway, and the Z vector is parallel to the building and perpendicular to the parkway, and assuming where you stop on that parkway is the origin, then the equation of the plane is 0x+0y+0z+D=0.
