| Introduction | It wasn’t but a couple of years ago that I would sit in a tea room with my closest friends & discuss the topics that entangled our lives. The tea room: a get away from life’s ups, downs, & forks in the road. A place where our minds & bodies shut down & our spirits had recess. As the fragrance of hot tea filled the air we would chat away freely about various topics. Though I was of the last remaining single girls it was inevitable to avoid the subject of marriage & family. As I would listen from discussions I pondered of the day that I would have my own family, & wondered what the road ahead had in store for me. I loved my career helping underprivileged families, but I couldn’t help but wonder when I would experience the next step of my life. Then it happened….I fell in love, ran off & got married, had two children back to back, moved into a new home & all in just two years. It has been a wild roller coaster ride these last couple of years. This is something for me as I learn again who I am. I change diapers now instead of nail polish colors & I haven't seen the inside of a tea room in a really long time. I'm pretty sure that is when I became the "Talk of the Tea Room”. |
