| Introduction | I am the oldest daughter of a very large family. The Deetz house was always the place to be, everyone was welcome, everybody ate. We cooked for at least a dozen people every night. My mom taught us how to cook by the handfuls, my dad by the teaspoon. We all benefitted from the different approaches. My Dad was an archaeologist, my mom the cook at his early field schools. No surprise most of us are archaeologists and/or chefs. Plus a mad inventor or two. |
