| Introduction | I still remember the first story I ever wrote at the tender age of 10. It wasn't very ingenious. Titled "The Mall," it was about four people - two guys, two girls- who get stuck in a mall (duh!) overnight while danger lurked in the background. I think it may have been four of those largely lined pages they give you in elementary/middle school. But, in those four pages, I found my true love and passion. I went on to earn a bachelors degree in creative writing from Hofstra University and have achieved a (mostly) fulfilling career as a newspaper journalist. I still hope to publish a book - or 10, I'm not picky - someday. I also love to read and have so many books my husband of five months often threatens to toss them out. We have filled every bookcase and will soon need an extra room just for books. And I wouldn't have it any other way. (Yes, I know what you’re thinking, I do like to start sentences with the word and. So what? You have your style, I have mine.) I'm hoping this blog can get me writing again - and out of my rut. I want to incite lively discussion about writing and books, books and more books. |
