| Introduction | I am a scientist, have been since discovering biology as a high school freshman (Thank you Mr. Calvin Kirby). A bachelor's in biology from Notre Dame, then a master's and a doctorate at Emory (Thank you Dr. Donald Shure and Dr. William Murdy) led to a stint as a research faculty member in botany at North Carolina State University working with Dr. Allen Heagle and Dr. Walter Heck. I recently spent a dozen years sharing earth and environmental science with a fantastic group of high school students. I am now writing about earth and environmental science full-time. |
