| Introduction | I love teaching 8th grade. My students inspire me with their insightful comments, reflective writing, and their offbeat senses of humor. One of the most influential experiences of my teaching career was when I taught creative writing and grammar in Belize at San Pedro Roman Catholic School. This international experience made me very grateful for all of the resources U.S. schools have to offer. I am proud to be a teacher in the Chapel Hill Carrboro School District and am thankful for the support we have from our students' families.
