| Introduction | The Mission: Eliminating unnecessary purchases to lighten our consumer footprint. The Gist: We will not buy anything new except: Necessary toiletries/household products Food/beverage Clauses: The Gadget Clause - We will try to repair items before we replace them. If we cannot repair them, we will replace them with used goods. The Second-Hand Clause - We can purchase any item used. However, for any item brought into our homes, another similar item must be removed and donated. The Service Clause - We may purchase any service, such as a massage or dinner out, as long as it does not result in bringing anything new into our living spaces. The Gift Clause Giving - Gifts given must adhere to all rules/ideas as listed above. Receiving - Gifts received can not be solicited. We created this blog so we'd have a place to check in and hold each other accountable. We don't know how this will go, but we hope to live lighter, save money, and find contentment. ~Courtney & Stacey |
