Introduction | Originally from West Medford, Massachusetts, I have been writing since about 1977. I started writing professionally with my high school newspaper and with the Medford Mercury in 1981, eventually ending up with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and, currently, Examiner.com. After 30 years, I was stunned to find out that people (me included) actually wanted to read my fiction again (the exception being 1982 when I won an ACT-SO award for my play "Ghost"). So, with encouragement from Writing.com and from C.J. Ellisson (in the form of a threat of violence), I decided to put my fiction out to the masses. Now, I have published two anthologies, two novellas and one full-length novel, plus numerous award-winning short stories. I have also acted in more than 20 movies and TV shows, continue writing college sports and now host a talk show. |

If you were a pirate, how would you avoid laughing when saying 'poop deck'?
I would just say "poop deck." I was a Navy engineer officer for four years. Nautical terms no longer faze me. But, in the interest of my readers, I might change the term to "#2 deck."
