| Introduction | My life has been a little bumpy over the years...five bumps, each of which lasted nine months, gave me five life-enriching souls who test my patience by the minute, but forever remind me that my children are God's greatest, most generous gift in my topsy-turvy life. I've been married 20 years to my blue-eyed, college crush. Together, we've weathered many storms, some of which quite nearly leveled our marriage--including having our preteen daughter diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. It's been a bumpy road, full of unexpected potholes and detours, plenty of moves across states and, in recent years, job layoffs and staff reductions that put this former stay-at-home mom back to work. Big bumps. Little bumps. They're all part of life--living, learning, loving--and sometimes those backroad detours deliver the most unexpected, unforgettable treasures. I like that about life--about my life. I spent the first 12 years of my career as a copywriter in the magazine business. I write all the time...for free, for fun, in my head, on scrap pieces of paper. And now, on a blog. Hello, and welcome. |
