About me

Gender FEMALE
Location Oakman, Alabama, United States
Introduction I am married to Joe, someone I've known practically all my life. I had a crush on him when I was in fifth grade!! We have two children, Trina who is married to John and is a teacher and Eddy, unmarried and loves working on golf course maintenance. Joe and I will celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary in October. We live a rather simple life in a rather simple house in a rather simple country setting. We are both retired; he from the Army after 20 years and Alabama Power after 16 years. I retired from the school system in 2000. Would I go back to work? No way.
Interests Sewing, maching embroidery, cooking especially baking, reading, doing volunteer work and meeting with my "sisters" on Tuesday morning at the church building.
Favorite Movies I very rarely ever go to the movies any more; however when I was MUCH younger that was my favorite thing to do. Oh, in Walker County that was the ONLY thing to do. Anyway, my favorite type of movie was the musical. It didn't matter what it was as long as it was a musical.
Favorite Music I guess you guessed from the previous statement that I love music, most any kind. I tend to lean toward country music because of my upbringing and I love gospel music, both the old time dinner on the ground kind and the contempory kind.
Favorite Books My reading is strictly for entertainment purposes; therefore, I do not ready heavy stuff. If I have to spend a lot of time thinking about the plot or characters I get side-tracked real quick. Light hearted mysteries are really a lot of fun especially if they are sprinkled with recipes as are all of Joanne Fluke's books and also Diane Mott Davidson. I enjoy reading Beverly Lewis and Wanda Brumstetter. Most of their books are set in the Amish communities and have a spiritual flavor.

Describe the sound of a moist waffle falling onto a hot griddle.

There is this nice sizzle that seems to say, "You will enjoy this very much."
