| Introduction | Dr. Zahidul Islam is a Hydrologist.He holds a Bachelor and a Master Degree in Water Resources Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and a Ph.D. in Water Resources Engineering from University of Alberta. Dr. Islam’s area of expertise is hydrology, water resources management, and climate change impacts on water resources. Before joining Government of Alberta in August 2012, he worked about four years as a Lecturer at the Water Resources Engineering Department of BUET, and about five years as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Alberta. He also worked as a Research Fellow at the Delft Hydraulics (Deltares), The Netherlands. He has about 15 publications on hydrology, hydraulics, water resources management, and climate change related issues in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Islam is a recipient of Alberta Innovates Graduate Students Scholarship and FSChia PhD Student Scholarship, University of Alberta. He is also involved in writing blogs and articles, and as of now, he has more than 25 published articles on water resources and environmental issues on newspapers and online news media. |
