| Introduction | I've always been interested in nature and ecology, thanks to my mother. At about three years old I walked into a neighbor's yard and told them they were polluting. (They were cooking out with charcoal.) That seemed like a great start, but now I have social phobia. Anyway, by the age of seven I was keeping mantises, "raising" Cecropia moths, and watching birds in the backyard. Later my favorites were reptiles and amphibians. Twenty years ago I completed a Master Natural History course through what is now Five Rivers Metro Parks, in Dayton area. I hung out at Glen Helen in Yellow Springs when I was supposed to be in class at Wright State. And now I just watch, read, learn, and photograph whatever I can involving our natural environment. |
